What are the zone functions?
Zones allow you to organize your sensors into easy-to-remember alarm areas. For example, Zone 1 could monitor the main entry doors into your home and Zone 2 could monitor outdoor areas like sheds and gates. A user can add four sensors per zone for a total of 16 sensors per system.
Zones 1, 2, and 3 give the user the ability to select from two modes—armed alarm mode and notification mode (notification mode features three settings: chime, alert, and off). Zone 4 is a dedicated alert zone, meaning it always acts in alert mode, providing protection even when you forget to set your alarm.
Armed Alarm Mode
The Control Center sounds the built-in alarm siren and begins flashing the zone LED indicator visual alert. The alarm siren will sound for three minutes and visual alerts will continue until you disarm the system by entering your four-digit personal security code. The system features two armed alarm setting: Home (instant alarm) and Away (alarm is delayed 45-seconds to exit and 30-seconds to enter, giving the user time to disarm the alarm). Alarm Mode can only be used in Zones 1, 2, and 3.
For example, opening a Door Sensor in Armed Alarm Mode will activate the alarm siren and flashing zone LED indicator visual alert. If the door is opened or closed, the alarm siren continues sounding for up to three minutes and the LED indicator visual alert will continue flashing. Once the system is deactivated by entering your four-digit alarm code, both the alarm siren, if still sounding, and visual alert will stop.
Notification Modes
Chime Setting: The Control Center issues a two-tone chime sound and a flashing zone LED indicator visual alert. The flashing zone LED indicator will continue until the sensor or sensors are deactivated. Motion Sensors do not operate in Chime Mode. Chime Mode can only be used in Zones 1, 2, and 3.
For example, opening a Door Sensor in the Chime Setting will activate the two-tone chime sound and flashing zone LED indicator visual alert. As long as the door remains open, the LED indicator visual alert will continue flashing, but you will no longer hear the chime sound. Once the door is closed, the LED indicator visual alert will stop.
Alert Setting: The Control Center issues an alert through a continuous beeping sound and a flashing zone LED indicator visual alert. The alert sound and visual alert will continue until the sensor or sensors are deactivated. The number of beeps determines which zone has triggered the alarm.
Zone 1 - You will hear “1 beep…1 beep…1 beep…”
Zone 2 - You will hear “2 beeps…2 beeps…2 beeps…”
Multi-zone - You will hear beeps for every zone triggered. For example, triggered sensors in Zone 1 and Zone 4 will produce “1 beep…4 beeps…1 beep…4 beeps…”
The Mute button can be used to temporarily silence an alert while you locate the triggered sensor. Motion Sensors do not operate in Alert Mode in Zones 1, 2, and 3. A Motion Sensor can be used in Alert Mode in Zone 4.
For example, opening a Door Sensor in the Alert Setting will activate the multi-beep alert sound and flashing zone LED indicator visual alert. As long as the door remains open, the multi-beep alert sound continues sounding and visual alert will continue flashing. Once the door is closed, both the multi-beep alert sound and visual alert will stop.
Off Setting: The Control Center issues an alert through a flashing zone LED indicator visual alert without sounding an alert beep or chime. The visual alert will continue until the sensor or sensors are deactivated.
For example, opening a Door Sensor in Off Setting will activate a flashing zone LED indicator visual alert. As long as the door remains open, the visual alert will continue flashing. Once the door is closed, the visual alert will stop.
